After purchasing this beautiful Atlas Peak land high atop the Napa Valley, Steve and Marilyn committed to dedicating their efforts toward the creation of a very special wine with a singular purpose: to assist others who are less fortunate and in need of help. A decade later, Steven has many uplifting stories to tell about how one small good deed manifested into something bigger — and sparked more aha! moments than they ever imagined when their idea was first born. With great sadness Marilyn battled cancer until passing on the legacy that she and Steve built together. With the collaborative efforts of their two sons, Steven and Jared, rockstar winemaker Karen Culler, and with your help, the opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives are limitless.
Operations & Marketing
Hospitality and philanthropy have been a part of the Rivera brothers roots since childhood. Some of their earliest memories include dining out as a family in their SF Bay Area hometown and afterward heading into the City to deliver clothes and blankets to homeless shelters for the holidays. Years later the brothers enjoy continuing this tradition by helping make a wine that helps make a difference. At Rivera Vineyards, Steve's focus is primarily on sales and operations while Jared oversees the vineyard's marketing efforts. The brothers hold similar responsibilites at Chefs Feed - the Webby Award winning chef-driven media company they founded together in 2012.
Rivera Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc wines are produced by noted winemaker Karen Culler. Karen is a renowned boutique winemaker, distinguished for producing vineyard-designated wines, which not only showcase the vineyard’s unique qualities, but also honor the grower’s efforts in the winemaking process. Karen’s other clients include Ladera, Wolf, and her own label, Culler Syrah; all have received high scores and accolades by Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, and many other critics.
Atlas Peak: home to Napa Valley’s most highly elevated, rugged and visually startling landscape. Not for the faint of heart, this immensely challenging and unadulterated region of Northern California Wine Country, has been producing fine wines since 1870. Fruit from the Atlas Peak Appellation is sold to some of the most prestigious wineries in Napa Valley, including Caymus, Cardinale, Cain, ZD, Stags’ Leap Winery, and Stags’ Leap Wine Cellars. Popular Atlas Peak wines include, to name a few, Pahlemeyer, Elan, Stagecoach, and Rivera Vineyards.
